Puʻuhoua o Puʻu Huluhulu
The Royal Order of Kamehameha I was established in 1865 by his Majesty King Kamehameha V (Lot Kapuaiwa) to honor the legacy of his grandfather, the unifier of these islands, Kamehameha the Great.
Today the organization continues to guard, maintain, and preserve the rituals and memory of the ruling chiefs of Hawai'i.
The Royal Order of Kamehamea has been instrumental in establishing the Pu'uhonua o Pu'uhuluhulu and Hawai'i Island members have been present as kia'i from day one. Today their Maui brothers arrive to support them, help carry the burden and kia'i the kia'i.
