"...to all people near and far standing in solidarity for sacred Mauna Kea! Proceeds will be donated to education and outreach for the Mountain Movement for Mauna Kea."
When Hawane was writing this song I asked her if I could contribute a tiny bit to it, maybe because Iʻm her mother she said I could. So I added the lines about the flag because now when we wave our flag people know that we are Mauna Kea supporters and I love that so "If you want to wave your flag upside, wave it high, wave it high, if you want to wear your flag down side, wave it high, wave it high" upside being right side up, down side, being upside down and upside stands for on the mountain and downside is back down in our communities...What inspired me was every time my friend Keala and I park next to each other, my flag is ʻupsideʻ and hers is ʻdownsideʻ but whats important is that we are both waving them high...Eo! pua
