I've just been informed by staff at Representative Ryan Yamane's office, ( he is the Chairman of the Water and Land Committee that would have voted on HB 2712 on Thursday ) that the Bill will not be heard.

Although this does not completely eliminate a possibility of an adverse Bill being sneaked in.....it almost guarantees it. The work and commitment done in the last few days have been incredible!

The report is the Offices of the legislators were visited by people presenting letters of opposition, and several hundred emails were received yesterday and today, in opposition to HB 2712.

I've been guided in this effort by professional people experienced and involved in the legislative process for a long time. They volunteered their time and remain unseen. In their words, " what other people take ten years to do, you guys did in ten days."

HB 2712 is likely....DEAD. We will remain maka'ala of attempts to continue the effort of development of those areas we consider sacred, and best left to Akua. Mahalo all. Relax......for now!
