As I prepare myself for tomorrow on the mauna I think of all those who I hold near that I stand for. I think of our children, Sione, Pilali, Pwo, Haumea, Namaku, Liloa, Talia, Kahanu, Tita, and so many more. These keiki, our keiki, deserve to live in a world where they can eat from their lands and oceans, breath clean air, and drink waters from their districts. I think of my elders who fe d me as a child and engrained the importance of kindness and love in me. I think of the countless brothers and sisters who I have bonded with and will stand with to protect our homelands. I think of all those who I love and cherish. Today, I give thanks for all those who came before, are here now, and will come tomorrow. For those heading to the Mauna remember those who you stand for that help soften you. Let these gentle beings and cherished memories bring you inner peace through these coming days.
