Lā 207: On this day two years ago Ossie Michelin took the top photo of a woman during an anti-fracking stand off led by the Elispogtog First Nation which comprised mainly of Mi'kmaq, Maliseet, and Acadians. Also other indigenous and non Indigenous supporters were there. They were protecting their waters. Police came in hard and abused them, pepper sprayed them, shot them with rubber bullets, cursed at them etc. That picture went viral. On April 2, 2015 I took this picture of my dad (bottom pic) while we were stopping TMT from further desecration of our sacred Mauna a Wākea. We are protecting our temple, our piko, our water, our future. This picture also went viral and other countries contacted me to use it for their coverage and so forth. Powerful people make a powerful statement. We are all in this together. ‪#‎protectsacredplaces‬ ‪#‎protectnaturalresources‬ ‪#‎alohaaina‬ ‪#‎canada‬ ‪#‎maunakea‬ ‪#‎kukiaimauna‬ ‪#‎TMTshutdown‬
