Lā 189: Auntie Max says the military does give jobs but the jobs are not for the Hawaiian people. To desecrate. She says wherever the military were to go to next she wishes them well.
Last report from day 2 of the #pohakuloatrial Auntie Max still on the stand for cross examination. When asked if she remembers Kevin testifying that if the army couldn't get their new lease that they would condemn the land she said no I don't because it was all jumbled. She's not alone on that one because I apparently missed that little nugget yesterday as well. Kevin's testimony was all over the place and even the judge was having trouble finding the relevance in much of it so I guess that snuck past us somehow. When asked if she wanted them to leave Pōhakuloa she mentioned a conversation she had with a friend recently who was lamenting over the job loss in that scenario. Auntie Max says the military does give jobs but the jobs are not for the Hawaiian people. To desecrate. She says wherever the military were to go to next she wishes them well. When asked for examples of human injury or desecration of archaeological sites she had this to say "I know when they made that road. The Daniel Inouye Road. They just pushed the iwi (bones) off to the side. That was not Pono. p-o-n-o. When asked how often she thought the State should be inspecting at Pōhakuloa she gleefully said 'once a month!' That's a wrap on day 2. I heard the attorneys say they will be finished tomorrow. Stay tuned for more #cartooncourtreport all day tomorrow! #BABcourtreport #kukiaimauna #alohaaina #pohakuloa
